Strategic Update & Roadmap to 2036 with DMBinS
Scotland’s mountain biking and off-road leisure cycling landscape is evolving faster than ever.
With support from the The Cycling Facilities Fund, which is supported by Scottish Government, Sport Scotland and National Lottery Funds, an £8m investment program has delivered 14 new MTB trails, 18 pump tracks, 2 skills trails areas since 2020 with an additional £18m+ of anticipated investment planned in the coming years.
And the associated growth in cycling is having an impact on related product sales through bike retailers in Scotland. MTB overall grew 12% in 2025 in the UK but outperformed in Scotland with +17% value growth.
Developing Mountain Biking in Scotland has created a compelling 10 year strategy to unlock the sector's full potential. From new trails, to a world-first innovation hub to the arrival of the world’s biggest cycling race, there is a lot going on.
